Across campus, from Seaver College to the Drescher campus, many cafes will see a refreshed, vibrant menu full of new flavors and local ingredients, featuring ethnic and regional cuisine.

The Waves Café has seen dramatic changes. The introduction of the Artisan ‘Za Bar has allowed guests to taste the new flavors of the specialty pizza in the café. Artisan pizzas begin with hand tossed, home-made dough, are topped with house-made sauces, and finished with mouth-watering toppings. From the rich flavors of the spinach, artichoke and feta ‘za to the savory flavors of the Thai beef ‘za, students, faculty and staff are raving about the new pizza selection. The success of the Artisan ‘Za Bar sparked the upcoming introduction of the Artisan Burger Bar.

Within the next few days, guests of the Waves Café will be able to taste the newest flavors of lower campus: artisan burgers, sandwiches and starters at the grill. The artisan menu will feature house-made hamburger buns and bread, 100% Angus ground beef, and a wide variety of delectable toppings and sauces. Guests can now enjoy the Western Burger, a savory Angus patty topped with cheddar cheese, tangy house-made BBQ sauce, onion strings, and applewood smoked bacon. Starters also include tempura vegetables with plum and sweet chili sauce and fried calamari with classic cocktail sauce and lemon aioli. These new items are sure to be the new fan favorites of the Waves Café.

New changes have also arrived at the Drescher Café. The Asian Stir Fry Bar has a new, enticing menu that will change weekly. This week you can enjoy honey roasted pork, orange chicken, pepper shrimp and kung pao tofu, but next week will bring an appetizing new menu. The ever-changing menu is sure to entice guests to stop by more often.

The HAWC Café has also undergone a menu overhaul. This bustling café has introduced new starters, such as salmon cakes with corn puree, wild mushroom and piquillo pepper sauce and black pepper garlic chicken wings, and four new flatbread pizzas, such as the “Japanese” crab and shrimp ‘za and the salsiccia bianca ‘za. The near future will also bring two new vegetarian entrees, the vegetable “Reuben” and stuffed peppers, in addition to three new dessert selections. Guests of the HAWC Café will be very pleased with the expanded menu featuring more vegetarian and healthy options.

Pepperdine Dining Services will continue to move forward in evolving its food program to meet the changing needs of our guests. We will continually solicit feedback from our guests and incorporate that into our daily operations. We look forward to sharing our culinary delights with you this academic school year, and wish you happy dining.
