Frequently Asked Questions

How is my meal plan billed?

Charges for your meal plan are conveniently billed to your student account. This is one of the benefits of purchasing a meal plan - you are not required to pay with cash or credit card!

How do I know what meal plan I am signed up for?

All students living in the Standard Residence Halls and Towers are automatically enrolled in the Waves 1600. Keep the following in mind when determining which meal plan would best meet your needs:

Waves 1600: 2 Balanced Meals per Day / 5 Days per Week

Waves 2150: 2 Balanced Meals per Day / 7 Days per Week; or
3 Balanced Meals per Day / 5 Days per Week

Waves 2560: 3 Balanced Meals per Day / 7 Days per Week

Waves 3000: 3 Balanced Meals per Day / 7 Days per Week
(larger meals and additional snacks for students with higher caloric needs)

Should you believe that another meal plan would better meet your nutritional needs; you can contact Housing and Residence Life (HRL) at (310) 506-7586 or send an email to HRL (housing@pepperdine.edu) from your Pepperdine e-mail account requesting a change.

Can I cancel my meal plan?

All students living in Standard Residence Halls or Towers are required to have a minimum of Waves 1600. If you are living in Lovernich Apartments, Drescher Apartments or George Page Apartments, you can cancel before the end of the first full week of classes. Students must send an email to HRL (housing@pepperdine.edu) from your Pepperdine e-mail account requesting a changebefore the end of the first full week of classes

Can I decrease my meal plan?

If you are a student living in Standard Residence Halls or Towers with a meal plan higher than Waves 1600, you may decrease your meal plan. All other students and residents may also reduce their meal plans. Students must send an email to HRL (housing@pepperdine.edu) from your Pepperdine e-mail account requesting a change before the Add/Drop Deadline.

Can I increase my meal plan?

Yes! You can contact Housing and Residence Life (HRL) at (310) 506-7586 or send an email to HRL (housing@pepperdine.edu) from your Pepperdine e-mail account requesting a change at any time during the semester.

Do meal points expire?

2015-2016 Rollover Policy

Students must be enrolled in a Waves 1000 plan or higher for both the fall and spring semesters to be eligible for rollover points. A maximum of 10% of the meal plan cost will rollover to the Summer 2016, Fall 2016, and Spring 2017 semesters. If the meal plan is reduced during the fall or spring semester, the 10% rollover will be based on the lower plan.

Summer meal plans begin at housing check-in and end on July 29, 2016. Meal points rollover from one summer session to the next summer session; however, all unused summer points expire on July 29, 2016.

Meal point balances are available on your WaveNet account in addition to viewing your balance at the cash registers in our dining areas.

If you run out of points for the fall semester, we strongly recommend that you sign up for a higher meal plan for the following semester.
